How does the mRNA used in protein synthesis differ from the original RNA transcript?

What is the apparent function of each of the alterations or modifications? How does the mRNA used in protein synthesis differ from the original RNA transcript?
The mRNA that is exported from the nucleus following transcription differs from the original RNA transcript in two ways ...

(1) The original RNA transcript contains both coding (exons) and noncoding (introns) regions. Surprisingly, most of our DNA is composed of noncoding, ';junk'; DNA. The cell does not want to translate this into protein, so spliceosomes cleave the introns out and DNA ligases glue the exons back together.

(2) To protect the mRNA and prevent it from being degraded by proteases in the cytosol, the nucleus attaches two things to the mRNA: a 5'G-cap, which is basically just a series of guanine nucleotides, and a poly-A tail, a series of adenine nucleotides. How does the mRNA used in protein synthesis differ from the original RNA transcript?
In eukaryotes the gene may be comprised of introns and exons. The introns will be removed and the exons joined, via a process called splicing, to form the mature-mRNA from the pre-mRNA.
The mRNA is translated from the RNA transcript--all Cs will turn into Gs and all As will be Us and vice versa. Also keep in mind the 5'-3' polarity.

  • Taking college courses during high school- how to get those credits on your transcript?

I'm taking college courses and community college in addition to my standard 6 periods at high school. I still have not gotten credit for one of the classes I took in the summer, and I am wondering how to get it on to my transcript. It is very important, because without this credit I cannot graduate, even though I took the course. Thanks in advance!Taking college courses during high school- how to get those credits on your transcript?
Yea, my school has 6 periods too, so we are limited of taking College courses or APs in my school.. But it will appear on ur trancsript and ur average will be slightly higher if u calculate the numbers on the transcript cause the grades are weightedTaking college courses during high school- how to get those credits on your transcript?
You need to talk to your guidance right away because this is important. Some high schools do not accept college credits as high school graduation requirements. Since I do not your school, I cannot tell whether your school does accept those credits. However, those credits will still be there when you go to college, where you have to transfer those credits to the college you are attending. So you need to see your guidance counselor.
You need to ask the college for a transcript to be sent to your high school. I think your prerequisites are ok, since you wouldn't be able to take the class without them.

Just walk on over to the office and ask them for an offical transcript to be sent to your school!
were they prerequisite classes to something you need to take. Sometimes the colleges will make you take a course that you need in order to take another course bc you didn't score high enough on the placement test.
Just go to the front office at your high school and tell them about it. They will work with the academic office of the community college to get things straightened out.

How can I get into college even if I don't have a transcript of records of my high school grades?

I want to enter college but my high school transcripts got lost due to some unavoidable circumstances. I tried to get other copies but even my high school lost their records due to a natural calamity. How do I do this? I'm sort of worried that this could be a hindrance in my enrollment. Any tips out there? Are there exams I could take or what? Thanks! How can I get into college even if I don't have a transcript of records of my high school grades?
Let us know, please, what state you live in. Some states have different procedures, but your transcripts will be on record with some office within your state's government. There might be a state Commission on Education, as in New Jersey, or there might be a State Board of Education, as in many states. You can check your state's Web site for info or even contact your state legislative representative.

Schools are required by law to keep duplicate records in a safe, off-premise location. The records exist, and finding them should not be too big a challenge. A few letters and/or phone calls or even an in-person visit (if convenient for you) should get the job done. Be aware that there might be a moderate fee.

Even without the transcripts, most colleges will accept you if you can document your successful attendance in some other way, but the transcripts will be valuable. Sometimes even employers request them.

You can do it, and if you need additional information, please do let us know what state you live in.

Can I have old failing grades from a community college expunged from my transcript?

I failed 5 classes at a community college over 10 years ago because I just stopped going and didn't care about college at the time. I now am back in school at a different community college, getting A's and B's but my old F's are killing my overall GPA. I want to just erase those classes because I don't need them. Is there a way to petition to the old college to have them expunged? Can I have old failing grades from a community college expunged from my transcript?
You have to know the answer before you asked it. No. l had the same problem, Here l am in school after about six or so years after high school my first year was not that good then l started getting A's. In the end all l needed was any one grade pushed up one half a grade and l would of been on the deans list. In the end l never made the dean's list. Got an idea you can retake those courses then they would have to post you better grades. Good luck. Can I have old failing grades from a community college expunged from my transcript?
i have the same problem, my old grades pulling my GPA down! i don't think it is possible! but if you find out let me know too!! i need to knoww!!

wait but i think u can ask ur advisor at school can't you?

When applying for high profile jobs do they generally ask for your college transcript?

Or just go by your resume and application. Do they usually ask your GPA? I am an accounting major. When applying for high profile jobs do they generally ask for your college transcript?
I'd say about 75% of the jobs I applied for asked for an unofficial copy of my transcript. I would assume they are looking for trends in your grades, where your strong points/weaknesses are, something else to judge besides a GPA.

My early years I kinda slacked off, and improved my gpa over time, which showed in my transcript. I explained that I wasn't focused my freshman year, and was adjusting(which was true). I think it's much better to start off with a low GPA and work your way up then to start with A's and B's and go down to C's.When applying for high profile jobs do they generally ask for your college transcript?
I've never had an employer ask for transcripts, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to have them handy, just in case. If they're concerned about making sure you haven't lied on your resume or application, odds are they'll do a background check.

Can I just not send a transcript to a college I transfer to?

I just transfered to a new college this year ansd ended up missing way to many classes while visiting my mother who is sick with cancer. I do not like the school that much and thought about transferring somewhere else. If I did that, would I be able to send my transcript from my first school and just neglect the transcript from this school? Would a school frown upon that if they found it, or is it ok to do?Can I just not send a transcript to a college I transfer to?
I did the same thing but where they can find out is through financial aid. If you are not getting federal aid then don't worry about turning in the other transcript. If you are - it may be more difficult but worth a shot. Can I just not send a transcript to a college I transfer to?
As a general rule you cannot pick and choose which transcripts you want to send and which ones you don't want to send. You might want to find a university that has something called an ';academic fresh start program'; or something similar. I don't really know of anything stopping you from self selecting transcripts but I would think it might be frowned upon by many institutions.
no you have to send a transcript or they will not know what clases you already passed or how many credits you have....with out them whats to stop a person from saying they need 3 credit to graduate
    ask your guidance counselor

What goes on a high school transcript when i send it to a college?

  • After getting associates, I want to go to new University - is old transcript necessary?

I will graduate from a community college after the summer, and in the fall I plan to go to a 4 year university for a different degree. I am not particularly proud of my current GPA, not that it is horrid. Am I obligated to inform them of my other college experience?

Basically, I am asking if I have to be considered a transfer student, or if I can start fresh and consider myself a first year incoming freshman.

After getting associates, I want to go to new University - is old transcript necessary?
Schools usually ask for transcripts from all old institutions. Most people also like being transfer students if it means they can transfer credits and not have to go through things like their general education courses again. If you really want to start over, you should contact the admissions department at the school you want to attend and ask if there's any way you could do that. You might still have to submit your old transcript, but that will be up to the admissions office. Just remember that starting over will literally mean starting over -- that is, you will probably have to retake ALL of your general education requirements in addition to whatever you need for your major.

What do you send to a college along with a high school transcript?

I've already submitted an online application and my test scores, now I just need to mail in a copy of my high school transcript. What do I include with it? I'm assuming a sheet with some personal information or something so they know who it is?What do you send to a college along with a high school transcript?
If you took any AP classes, and your scores are good, have your school send your scores. You might also want to submit teacher recommendations, an essay if your school accepts one, and an activities resume. An activities resume is a list of all the jobs, community service, and extra curricular activies you took that will not be on the transcript. What do you send to a college along with a high school transcript?
Usually, the college needs a copy of your official transcript. That's a signed/stamped transcript that is in a sealed, unopened envelope - it's not just a photocopy of your college transcript. The official transcript needs to be mailed directly from your high school to the college, without going through your hands.

Many colleges have a form that you print and fill out, and that you hand to your guidance counsellor. She will send that form in with your transcript.
Usually the transcript is sent directly by the high school. Most colleges will not accept transcripts which are sent by the applicant.
The transcript will have your name on it.

More specifically in the state of Washington. Or does it really have to be your birth certificate? When getting your permit to drive, can you bring a high school transcript as proof of identification?
All you should need is your Social Security Card and your Birth Certificate.

If you cant find either you can apply for both.

Social Security Card at your Social Security Office and

Birth Certificate from your State of Birth.

~faithWhen getting your permit to drive, can you bring a high school transcript as proof of identification?
No, you need to bring your birth certificate.
Birth certificate is mandatory. You can order one online, though, from the county in which you were born. Don't worry, you'll need one anyway, in teh years to come.
I woudl think it has to be 2 forms of Identification with one with a photo. Maybe a school ID photo would work but ...yea, check their website.
u can give.but remember to get a permit to drive ur age must be 18 yrs. minimum.
You can use your high school transcripts, but you will also need a second form of ID.

Can a potential employer view my transcript from my university?

I'm wondering if a company can view my transcript when I apply? Do universities generally have to keep transcripts private?

I've seen the privacy policy for grades, but it is so filled with legal jumbo that it's hard to discern whether or not my transcript can be viewed by a third party. Can a potential employer view my transcript from my university?
No one can see or receive a copy of your transcript without your permission. You have to request a copy be sent to whomever you want to see it.Can a potential employer view my transcript from my university?
No, they have no way of accessing your transcript if you don't send it to them. However, they can call the university in order to verify that you did indeed graduate.
most don't look at individual grades but just want to see if you went to the university you said and that you graduated with the degree you say you have.
Thec can only view it if you give the university permission to send it to them. Otherwise, No. If they ask and you refuse permission, they will wonder why and probably not trust you.
If it's if it's a bad report he probably won't hire you. if it's a good report, let him see it, I don't expect you have to show it to him if you don't want to. But that sends a red flag to him.
They can't view it without your consent, but most employers will ask for your transcript if you're applying for a job right out of college.
i have never been asked to supply a transcipt although i did have to give them permission to contact the school to verify my degree. so i guess they could view the transcript if they really wanted to...

What looks better on a college transcript, 3 years of french or 4 years of drama?

I am a high school student in California trying to get submitted into a UC college (UCSD UCI UCSF UCLA) and it is reccomended 3 years of language. I would like to take both but there is only one period of drama 3 and french 3 for juniors. I honestly love the performing arts and I was just curious which is the smarter choice. What looks better on a college transcript, 3 years of french or 4 years of drama?
Well let's think about this - the colleges require that you have three years of a foreign language so that would mean that you need three years of a foreign language. This is not a difficult decision - take three years of French. If you like drama, take some electives once you get to college. Drama is not going to be impressive to most schools. What looks better on a college transcript, 3 years of french or 4 years of drama?
i think 3 years of french is way better because it shows harder work and more dedication

  • Can a school LEGALLY hold your transcript and diploma for throwing your hats at your own graduation?

I just graduated from high school on May 14 and we were told not to throw our hats. Well we threw ours any way. We were told that if we through them they would hold our transcript and diploma for 2 months.... is this legal? Can a school LEGALLY hold your transcript and diploma for throwing your hats at your own graduation?
No they CANNOT hold your transcript and diploma.....all you have to do is mention the word ';lawsuit';, and they will rush you your transcript and diploma faster then you can say ';lawsuit';. Also, if you have the money, sue them, and you will win. I think it has been done before. Finally, get the press involved, the school will not want to be in the public spotlight. Oh, BTW, call the State Board of Education (I think that is who is overseeing them), and tell them what is going on. I hope everything works out. I think my school tried to do that, all I had to do is tell them that I smell a lawsuit coming, and me threatening to contact their accredition agency, and the press, and they gave in! Hope all goes well, bye! :)

How do you submit a transcript online?

A online job site require me to submit a resume and a transcript. Is there someway to submit my university transcript online? Or do they mean they want a paper one sent later, from my university? How do you submit a transcript online?
They probably want you to mail it in or in the event of an interview, be able to produce it. There is a way for you to submit it online, you can scan it and then save it on your computer and send it as an attachment but I wouldn't recommend this because it is easy to edit a scanned document which is why most companies want the actual information in their hand. To be efficient just mail it all in at once unless they only are accepting application for the job online. If that' s the case, when you submit your resume make sure you state in your cover letter that you can produce transcripts once an interview is requested. How do you submit a transcript online?
Well, often an online job site will specify if you should apply ONLY online, or ONLY on paper, or what. Look at the site.

I managed to send somebody an unofficial copy of my transcript online, in the following way:

    1. Got an unofficial copy of my transcript, on paper, from my university;

    2. Went to Kinko's, and used the scanner to scan the transcript onto their computer (can't remember if I saved it as a Word document or a PDF file);

    3. From Kinko's, E-mailed a copy of the scanned transcript to myself;

    4. Went to my own computer at home, opened the transcript from the e-mail attachment, saved it to my own computer, and uploaded it to a ';My Documents'; feature at the online jobsite, and submitted it.

    5. I have also e-mailed the saved transcript to other employers, along with my resume and cover letter.

    Hope this helps. Good luck.
Your university is ready to send your transcript for you... expect to pay a fee (usually not more than $5.00). An employer wants it from your school, not you... it will have an official school stamp and since your school will send it directly to your employer, the employer will know that it is unaltered. (Yes, employers are aware that some student's might try to alter their records.)

I am currently at a University and am a sophomore. I am in physics class and lab and it is kicking my tail and it would probably be best to drop it. One W, if you officially withdraw, should not hurt you. However, before you do anything, call the coach at the other college, where you want to transfer, and have him double check. Has anyone ordered a court transcript from the court reporter?

How long does it take? How much does it cost? I live in California and I need a transcript.Has anyone ordered a court transcript from the court reporter?
Most counties now have half decent web sites off which you can order various documents. Some even allow you to access the data immediately.

If it is a recent case, the record of proceedings may not yet be transcribed into regular text.

LOL @ asking for a kidney. Isn't that the truth?Has anyone ordered a court transcript from the court reporter?
Depends on how long your case was, and when it was. Most reporters will transcribe their court cases within a few weeks of the trial/hearing. Then store it, so basically she/he may just have to duplicate it for you (print it off and certify it), so it may not take too long. If it is recent or she hasn't transcribed it yet, then it could take a few days depending on how long the hearing/trial/deposition took. Normal turn around is about 10 days, but you might be able to get it expedited. The cost is roughly 3.50 per page (in most states with normal delivery), and there are roughly 50 pages in an hour. So you'll have to estimate your own cost. Good luck.
i hate to give you a crappy answer, but all you really need to do is go to your local barnes and noble bookstore's legal section and it will be in one of the ';represent yourself'; books.

i've done it before, and requesting information from the court can be tedious if you aren't aggressive and tenacious. assuming there's no reason for them to want to tie up the process, it shouldn't take more than a week via mail. however, your best bet is to go into the court's clerk's office with a letter detailing exactly what you need and all of the details surrounding it, so the county employee (they always act like youre asking for a kidney) is more likely to get it done quickly instead of bitching.

it costs close to nothing, but the actual price varies from county to county, usually it's several small charges resulting in an under $20 total. just remember that if youre smiling the whole time and wont let them put you off that youll get it, because it is of course a matter of public record and they owe it to you.

PS- don't volunteer that youre a reporter. if they ask, go ahead, but trust me, dont bring it up.

  • How can someone go about changing the name on their college transcript?

My fiance's nickname is on his highschool and college transcripts. He is attempting to go back to college after a 10 year ';break';. He wants to go back under his birth name, the name on his birth certificate, social security card, and passport. The problem is that the college he wants to transfer to will not accept his real name. They say he must admit himself under the name on his transcripts, and that he has to legally change his name to his ';real'; name. Have you ever heard of this? What should he do? What are his options? How can someone go about changing the name on their college transcript?
Are you sure you heard their response correctly? I know of situations where they wanted you to continue the application process under the ';nickname'; since that's what was on the application packet/transcripts/etc. and that is how admissions has the person recorded. Then after being accepted, simply change at that time.

But maybe he just talked to someone who was cranky and having a bad day? I'd call admissions and ask them again about the proper procedure to keep records straight and to keep everyone happy. It shouldn't be that big a deal. How can someone go about changing the name on their college transcript?
He needs to contact the original college where his nickname is being used. Call the Records Department and tell them that he is requesting an official name change on all of his transcripts. He will have to prove that is his official name by showing them the b/c, ssc, and passport. It will take some time... but they should do it for him.

How does a high school transcript look like?

I'm a 10th grade student from Massachusetts. I was wondering if high school transcripts show all the clubs/sports you have joined in that file, or do you have to remember all the clubs you joined?

The main point is: What are the things that are shown in your high school transcript after when you graduate?

Thanks for answering. How does a high school transcript look like?
It has your school's profile, your final grades from each year, GPA, class rank, SAT/ACT scores, and your extracurricular activities. How does a high school transcript look like?
Transcripts are strictly your classes, grades, GPA, that sort of thing it's not going to include what you participated in.
Just your classes and grades and days absent or tardy.

Can my entry to UCSC be revoked because of a final transcript?

My grades were pretty much horrid, I had a D in one of my classes which I already told them about and they said my status will remain intact. But the rest of my grades were not fantastic either, my overall GPA was a whopping 2.2 -__- Any thoughts on my chances? Can my entry to UCSC be revoked because of a final transcript?
I have heard that UCSC is pretty strict on the admission condition policy. I say...cross your fingers. Can my entry to UCSC be revoked because of a final transcript?

How do I get a transcript of a court case in 1992??

I want the whole transcript of my brothers court case in Kinston, NC in 1992. After ten years they say they dispose of it but there is now way not to get able to get a record of that case. Please help me.How do I get a transcript of a court case in 1992??
in the legal system- nothing is disposed of. only 'them' from the neck up. go to county clerks office and request a transcript of that case with case number off of the police record- then pay $$$ for the complete copy of the transcript. they even have records dating back to the civil war in some county library's. do not take ???? for an answer. How do I get a transcript of a court case in 1992??
If it's been purged from the court then the only way will be to find someone who bought a transcript back then, and buy it from him.

Unless there was an appeal, though, no transcript was probably ever written. In the overwhelming majority of cases the court reporters tape just goes into the file and is put away. Once the deadline for filing an appeal is over, there's no reason for the court to keep the records, so they're routinely dumped.

    Richard
If you can think of a reason why someone else would have requested the transcript before it was destroyed, then you can ask them for a copy.

  • How bad does pass/no pass classes look on your transcript for grad school?

My school allows me to take certain lower division courses as a pass/no pass grading option, but I do not know if I should because I don't know how grad schools would interpret it. If someone can give me some advice, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! How bad does pass/no pass classes look on your transcript for grad school?
Don't do it for classes that look like they would have been particularly difficult, or for anything in the area(s) you are thinking of going to grad school in. You can probably get by with one or two, but most schools would prefer to see actual grades. Keep the pass/fail for that class you took just because it sounded intriguing, but which was completely outside your area of interest. How bad does pass/no pass classes look on your transcript for grad school?
I'm told that as long as they are few, not in your major, and not related to what you want to study in grad school, it's no big deal. Don't have to many (1 or 2--3 tops), don't have any in important classes (which your advisor should stop you from anyhow).

Plus, realize that the quality of your school as accessed by the grad school is way more important. The next thing is to have a bunch of high level courses on your tran--they higher the numbers, the more they like it (even though its a total crock and most high level courses are more narrow than they are rigorous).
Well, it really shouldn't matter as long as you have above a 3.0 GPA and do well on the GRE. Even though it isd a lower division course, doesn't mean it's not beneficial to your learning- and they will take that into account.
You should take as little pass/fail classes as you can. It looks like you got all d's and c's to graduate schools, just accept the letter grade.

What happens if you are charged with plagiarism in University? How does it affect you and your transcript?

If you are charged with not citing an article properly, otherwise known as plagiarism or presenting someone else's ideas as your own, what happens next? Please share experiences and advice on how people fare when it comes to plagiarism in University. What happens if you are charged with plagiarism in University? How does it affect you and your transcript?
Well, if you don't cite an article properly (by accident or ignorance, take your pick) it's probably just a few points off of your paper and maybe a small slap on the wrist so you don't do it again.

If you willfully present someone else's work as your own, then at the very least you would fail the assignment or test. Usually it's grounds for a failing grade in the class; and it wouldn't be inappropriate for the University to expel the student.

Keep in mind that there may also be legal consequences, especially if the original work was a registered copyright(s).What happens if you are charged with plagiarism in University? How does it affect you and your transcript?
Normally you would be lucky not to be expelled. It sullies the uni's reputation.

What is the difference between a college official and unofficial transcript?

Does anything show up on a college official transcript that is not on the unofficial transcript? What is the difference between a college official and unofficial transcript?
They should be identical. The official transcript is one that is issued by the university with their stamp on it. Many places want the transcript mailed directly from the university to them so there is no chance of altering it. Some will accept an unofficial transcript which you might be able to download from your file or one you carry in, even if it has the stamp. What is the difference between a college official and unofficial transcript?
Unofficial just means that you basically get a printed out version of your transcript. Basically you can log into your Uni/College (whatever system they use) and print out your grades (transcript).

This is usually used as your primary paper to show that you did attend a certain University with whatever grades and courses completed.

The official transcript basically is signed by the University/College and stamped. There is no difference in what appears on the transcript except that its verified by the University that those are your real grades and course completions.

So basically if you apply somewhere with your official transcript its a verification that you did complete those courses with those grades.
Official transcript: Printed out from the registrars office.

Unofficial Transcript: accessible through the internet and printed out from your personal computer.

  • Would retaking Precalc over the summer look better on my transcript?

I am a good student and take AP courses, yet math has always been a struggle, especially this year. I didn't do so well. Would retaking it look better than just leaving it as is and just moving on?Would retaking Precalc over the summer look better on my transcript?
What grade did you get for the course? If you got a D or an F, then definitely retake the course, but if you got a C, just leave it, because there is a chance that you'll only get a C again and then that would look even worse than it did before- you took the course twice and didn't improve! Just accept it if it's a C and focus in on doing better in your AP/Honor and regular classes next year.Would retaking Precalc over the summer look better on my transcript?
retake it--it will only improve your grade (i doubt that someone who takes ap courses could retake a course and do worse on it). It will also show colleges how hard you are willing to work. Only good things could come from it so go for it!
That would be a good idea, and it would allow you to focus on something at which you may have a big of a struggle (I'm with you on that). It would help in college apps, so I say go for it!

How bad is it to have a D on your transcript when transfering to a University of California school?

i'm trying to figure out how bad it is to have a D on your transcript when you apply to transfer to a UC. i know that with academic renewal or taking a course over again it gets rid of the D/F from your GPA, but the grade still shows up on your transcript. How bad is that? and does it affect my chances of getting into a UC?How bad is it to have a D on your transcript when transfering to a University of California school?
depends what school you are trying to apply to. the D will not look too bad if you have only one and no w's if your trying to get into anything other then UCLA and CAL because there is tag and such. But from my experience as a transfer student and the info i gained from CAL counselors a C will not look to good, but you have a D in which you should of dropped the class, but thats CAL. i think other UCs are more lenientHow bad is it to have a D on your transcript when transfering to a University of California school?
    It depends.

Did you retake the course? If you did and ended up with a B or better yet, an A, it won't affect you much. If you got a C... don't stress it.

Another thing to consider is... how many D's do you have? If you have one or two, and retook with with an A or B, it doesn't affect you too much. If you have 3+ D's, it's not too great.

When trasferring, schools don't look at your GPA alone. They look at your essay, volunteer work, experience, etc.. GPA is only one aspect of the whole application.

If you have a GPA of 3.0 and above, I'm sure you will get in the UC system. It's not too hard as a trasfer student. I recommend that you join a transfer program at your school. This should help you a lot.
It really depends on the school. It will not necessarily affect the decision of a school like Merced, which is not prestigious; on the other hand, if you have hopes of attending Berkeley, LA, or even SD, your chances will be lowered rather significantly.

Will three years of choir look good on my transcript?

I joined in 9th grade so I could meet girls, but I ended making a lot of friends, and I've done it all through High School so far (I'm a junior). I'm a very good student, but I don't know what I want to major in, and my Math grades are average. Will choir help me get into an upper echelon school? Will three years of choir look good on my transcript?
Schools like to see that you are ';involved'; and well-rounded. So the fact that you were in choir so long shows that you're dedicated and that you could maintain school as well as extra-curricular activities.

Is it bad if employers look at your transcript and saw that you have retaken more classes than once?

I'm stressing out right now in college. I have a 3.4 GPA but I have retaken 4 classes, 2 of which I had a grade of F in and retook them with an A and B respectfully. So are employers going to frown upon something like that when they look over my transcripts from college? I'm still in college by the way, graduating next semester. Is it bad if employers look at your transcript and saw that you have retaken more classes than once?
I don't think employers will look at your transcripts. They are only interested in the type of degree, extra caricular activities, volunteer work and other real life experience that may make you a stronger candidate. References will help you as well...references in your field or professors would be even better. Your grades in high school helped you get into college but your grades in college don't carry much weight in the real world.

  • How do you get an official sealed high school transcript?

I need it for a phlebotomist training program as a requirement. Do I have to go all the way to my high school to get it? Does it cost? Ugh...How do you get an official sealed high school transcript?
Depending on the school and the state it may or may not cost (it probably won't since it is coming from a high school). You should be able to call your high school guidance counseling office/counseling center to get the transcript(s) mailed to a specified location. Unfortunately, if that does not work then you might have to go down to the high school...especially if your high school is not good with record keeping. How do you get an official sealed high school transcript?
The best thing to do is to call your high school to find out if you have to go there or if they can just mail it.

What will the interviewer look for in my college transcript?

I have an internship interview with an accounting firm this week. Its for a winter internship and Im going to school right now.My transcript was printed off about two months ago and it says that on it. So you think that they would care or do I need to reprint it? Is it going to look bad that Im only taking 9 credits right now? What will the interviewer look for in my college transcript?
As long as you have half way decent grades don't worry about that. The aspects of the interview are more important. You college probably has some type of mock interview where you can go practice interviewing and people will critique you on it.

But the 9 credits might be a problem if there is a rule where you have to be attending full time. Technically you need to have 12 credits to be considered a full time student.

Yeah I'm sure they would find out eventually, if not in the admission process. You must send in transcripts from every school. I had the exact issue. How much do colleges consider your high school transcript when applying to transfer for your junior year?

Is it possible that they would deny me admission based on my high school mistakes? How much do colleges consider your high school transcript when applying to transfer for your junior year?
Nearly all colleges will not require, nor even accept, a HS transcript once you've accumulated that many credits. Everything will be based on your college GPA.How much do colleges consider your high school transcript when applying to transfer for your junior year?
If you are talking about transfering after 2 years of college, I think they would overlook HS as you have proved yourself more recently.

Can anybody view it without permission?Who is allowed to look at my college transcript?
At my school, no one can view your transcript except you, your academic adviser and various people at the registrar's office. For anyone else to look at your transcript, you have to physically hand them a copy of it.Who is allowed to look at my college transcript?
No one can look at your transcript without your permission. Any other schools or jobs will ask you to fill out a permission form. I would only assume the same goes for family, but my family has never asked to see it. Curious, why would you think your relatives want to see your transcript? You can just show a grade sheet at the end of the semester to show what classes you took and grades.
No one besides people at the school are allowed to look at your transcript without permission. When you go to college you and your parents will be given log in information to access all your personal information including transcripts. You will be able to change it right away. So if you really don't want your parents to see the transcript your do NOT have to let them see it.
you have to send it to them.. no one else except the school is authorized to have your official transcripts

  • What are reason a college might hold your transcript?

I would like to know all the reason a college might decide to hold your transcript? What are reason a college might hold your transcript?
It's usually because you owe them money.

My local college will put a hold on transcripts if:

    1. You have unpaid tuition or fees.

    2. You have an overdue library book.

    3. You have an athletic hold (you borrowed equipment and did not return it.)

Contact the admissions/enrollment center of the college to find out why there's a hold and how to resolve it.What are reason a college might hold your transcript?
Only one reason, you owe them money.
Outstanding balance. I don't know of any other reason.

You outstanding balance could be from ANYTHING. Maybe they charge per transcript request (my college does 2 freebies then charges $3 per transcript. What a rip!).
The person owes money to the school or possibly has books never returned to the library.
    you owe money

How could a minor go about getting a transcript published?

...for a novel, that is. Thank you!How could a minor go about getting a transcript published?
You can start with knowing it's manuscript, not transcript. I'll let this error slide.

Anyhow, disregard the fact you're a minor. If you're a talented writer, publishing has no pre-requisite for age. I suggest you purchase The Writer's Market 2007 (or go to the library if you cannot afford to buy it) and also read books on writing a great query letter to publishers. Whatever you do, do NOT send an unsolicited manuscript.

If your novel gets picked up, make sure your parents are involved with every step of the way. If; like many, many other writers, you face rejection after rejection, don't give up. If writing is your passion you'll find a way to succeed no matter what.

Good luck to you.How could a minor go about getting a transcript published?
By unsolicited manuscript, I believe they mean the whole thing. Generally, one will send a small portion of the work (as the greatest idea in the world will look like the south end of a donkey is the writer doesn't know a thing about writing, and visa versa). The first 13 lines are particularly important (as these are the lines that are most likely to be read on a properly formatted manuscript).

Make sure you get other people to read your work first, however, especially for grammatical and spelling errors. These can spell doom for you. Also be sure to send your work to the proper publishers (not every publisher touches children books, or science fiction, or mystery, etc).

You certainly do not need an agent, but they certainly do help. A good agent will not charge you (or only charge very nominal fees, but these are increasingly rare). An agent makes money off of the profit of your book, a publisher makes money off of publishing your book (and the associated profits); it shouldn't cost you anything more than postage (but that can be expensive).

You might want to check with your parents, as technically I do not believe a publisher can sign a contract with you if they accept you (being a minor).
Novels don't have transcripts...a little confused here. Age doesn't matter, anything could get published if they wanted to.
I think you could... Not sure, though...
Well first you need an agent or a manager. Right now i am working with an amazing agent. i am only thirteen, but mine was written as a script for a movie. they way i found them was through the internet. just go to yahoo and search like...good agents for kids books... That should work, hit me up with it so i can read it. gavinholter@yahoo.com

How bad does a D look on your transcript?

So I've gotten all As and Bs throughout high school except for last year when I took Chemistry. I got a C the first semester and then a D the second. Is this going to ruin my chances of getting into college? Is there a way to make it look like I never took the class? What should I do?How bad does a D look on your transcript?
well it depends, it especially can affect your chances of getting in if it doesn't match up with the requirements looked out for in the said college.

but if their not looking for chemistry specifically then you have basically a 70% - 30% chance to say your getting accepted. But its not like as soon as they see it your out, they may even say that you are good in these aspects, but you still have room to improve in chemistry. How bad does a D look on your transcript?
A D isn't good by any means but just having one will DEFINITELY not ruin your chances of getting into college. Just make sure you retake it and try your best to get an A or a B. Other than that, there's not really anything else you can do. But don't worry, you'll get into college.

What should I do to start preparing my transcript?

I've college-application stupid at this point. I want to attend DeVry University in Atlanta, Georgia. I'm a junior. What do I do to send one in?What should I do to start preparing my transcript?
Sit down and make a list of all the extracurricular activities, honors, awards, etc that you have recieved. Applications always have a section for that and you don't want to forget any. You can go the school's website and most schools have an online application that you can fill out. As a junior, you can't turn one in yet, but you might want to check it out and see if they require a writing sample or references. Now you have to time to still get those, if you don't have them already.

For the people are just entering high school they have more time to prepare. I would say take a foreign language class for atleast 3-4 years. Most well-known, highly ranked universities make you take a foreign language class or look highly upon people who do. Also, take the SAT and ACT seriously. I wish I could say its not all about grades and scores..... but it pretty much is. Get a good GPA and test scores, and you'll already have a foot in the door at most universities. What should I do to start preparing my transcript?
if you are a JR. I don't think you can't send one just yet. But tak ethe sats, ask for letters of reccomendations to all your teachers, and make sure your community services is turned in
Get the address of the school you want, and go to your guidance counselor and give them sufficient time (2-3 weeks) before you would like the transcript to arrive at the school. They might have a form for you to fill out to provide them with the necessary info.

Also, hope your guidance counselor is not as stupid OR lazy as mine.

How bad does a withdrawal look on a transcript for law school?

I am taking a class that I don't need. I am going to get a b or a low b. Should I withdrawal to save my gpa, or will that look bad? which is worse, a slightly lowered gpa or one withdrawal on a transcript? How bad does a withdrawal look on a transcript for law school?
A withdrawl is a ton better than failing, that is why it is available. If you are concerned about a B I wouldn't do it. Most teachers won't let you either if you aren't failing or going to fail. How bad does a withdrawal look on a transcript for law school?
I would stick it out if you've got at least a B. Although I dont think withdrawals are a bad effect its better than an F or Incomplete.
its not exactly gonna hurt ur gpa that much, probably .1 or .2 points off, but if u don't need it, then wats the point of taking it, would it matter to a law school if it said u got a B- on a class u didn't even need?

Do all classes shows up on your transcript when transferring to another college?

I took a couple of courses at my community college during summer, however I forgot to withdraw from them and had 3 Ws and 1 Fs. However these are computer courses that is a special program here and are not offered anywhere else. They don't offer these courses no more so I can not make them up. Will this show up on my transcript when transferring to another college?Do all classes shows up on your transcript when transferring to another college?
Yes, it doesn't matter if they are still offered anymore, they will still be on your transcript and the F will affect your GPA.Do all classes shows up on your transcript when transferring to another college?
Be straight up with your advisor. I know of a guy who pretty much failed his first year of school and years later when he started at a different school they looked at his transcripts and basically started him from scratch. So it sounds like it's may be one of those all or nothin situations.

What do I write in a school transcript request email?

Im requesting my grades from when I graduated high school. What do I write in my email? An example would be helpful. Im trying to get financial aid.

Thank you. What do I write in a school transcript request email?
Your best bet would be to call the school and tell them you need the transcripts. They may require your signature to release them. You may also have to pay a small copying fee.

If they say you can send an e-mail all you need to write is something like this:

My name is John Smith. I graduated from ABC high school in 19XX. I would like a copy of my transcripts sent to XYZ College at (insert address). OR I would like a copy of my transcripts sent to me at (insert address).

If you are a woman and have a new last name add a line - My name is Jane Smith, my name was Jane Jones when I attended ABC High.

You will need your transcripts when you apply to a college so it is a good idea to take a look and make sure that it is correct.

For information on Financial Aid take a look at this site from the Department of Education:

  • What key things help on your college transcript?

What do i have to do to have a better chance at going to a good university? Other then GPA requirements, what other things are good...clubs....community service? What key things help on your college transcript?
On a college application they are interested in a few things.

Grades - is there evidence of academic ability.

Class standing - same thing, but compared to others in your school. These two things are the best predictor of college success.

    Standardized test scores -

HS classes - like AP classes

Activities - are you a well rounded person, what are you like, will you contribute to the campus community.

Essay - what are you like as a person.

The 'college application coaches' stress activities, because for high end students it is the only thing that differentiates them. Most schools, moderately selective to selective, are interested in regular people. Highly selective schools, of which there are a small number, are trying to make decisions about students who have excellent scores and high grades, so activities count.

Will dropping this class be on my transcript of permanent college record?

I recently signed up for a summer algebra class only, but the admissions office somehow enrolled me for a spanish class too. Classes haven't started yet, so I was hoping to drop the Spanish class now. Will this go onto my permanent record/transcript? If it does, will it look bad? Will dropping this class be on my transcript of permanent college record?
No, you are dropping it before you took it....not a problem. Just make sure it is dropped...check back in a few weeks after you filled out the paperwork...sometimes academic offices make errors. (college prof)Will dropping this class be on my transcript of permanent college record?
AM is right, if dropped before you even start the class, it won't show. In fact, you usually have up until the end of the first week or so (even if you went to one or two of the classes of the course) to drop any class and not have it end up on your transcript.
No, it will not go on your transcript.

How can one grade fck up my transcript so bad?

Ok, so I got a C in Honors chem in freshman year and now im a sophmore. My GPA is a 3.24, but i recalculated my GPA without chem and its a 3.5. How did one C fck up my transcript so bad? It's just one class. How can one grade fck up my transcript so bad?
Yes, but it is only one out of relatively few classes. I don't know if this is 3 credits out of about 30, or out of 45 (including this semester). The longer you are in school getting other, better, grades, the less impact that one C will have. By the time you graduate, it will be only 3 credits (or so) out of 120 (or so), so the impact will be minimal. How can one grade fck up my transcript so bad?
The more classes you take, the less affect one grade will have on your overall GPA.
Say what?? Fcks your transcript?? Dam! Who fcks your transcript in the first place?

Where should i get my high school transcript?

im in high school, and trying to transfer, and i need my high school transcript, will they even give it to me ? or do i need my parents to get it ?Where should i get my high school transcript?
Every school is different. Ask your counselor or someone working in your school's office. At my school, I have to request for it to be mailed to my house.

.Where should i get my high school transcript?
Your new school should be the one requesting your files when you get there. If this is not the case talk to your guidance counselor. He/she or the guidance secretary would be the one to go to. The technical term is Registrar.

How can you make a fake college transcript?

This goes to the question I asked before. My friend wants to know if she can make her own college transcript. B/c she put down on her job application that she has an assoicates degree but she really doesn't. She wants to know if there's a way around it without being caught. How can you make a fake college transcript?
She just needs to get a piece of stationery from the college to use for the cover letter. The transcript is just a normal printout with few special markings. Just a list of courses and credits and when completed. Most people don't get caught until they get successful and some reporter calls their ';college';..How can you make a fake college transcript?
There are ways to do it. If she knows someone who has graduated college, she could get a copy of theirs, scan it into a computer, and use a program like photoshop to change the information to match hers.

I wouldn't recommend it though because some employers do call and check on things. My boyfriend has a bachelors degree from UK, and nearly every job he's had has called and verified it or asked for a copy of his diploma. (So not all places want just the transcript- they also want a copy of the diploma as well)

  • Is it good too attach a college transcript to your resume if you havent graduated yet?

trying to get a job, something better that fast food, ya know......please include any ideas or jobs you liked before starting your careers. Is it good too attach a college transcript to your resume if you havent graduated yet?
No, usually if they are interested in your transcript, they will ask for it. If you offer it without being asked, it might be seen as inappropriate. If you are currently in college, it would make sense to get something related to the area you want to work in, either a paid internship or, if you are going into a profession you can't do until you finish your education, being around those who are engaged in that profession. Networking never hurts, and at least you would respect what the enterprise as a whole was engaged in.Is it good too attach a college transcript to your resume if you havent graduated yet?
I'm a finance major, and having no idea, but i'm starting an internship on summer at a hedge fund in Greenwich CT
I'm not sure what you want to do otherwise I'd have more recommendations..... Anyway...nobody wants to see your transcript. Just put under education ex: ';college 2004-2008'; or ';BA Science 2008';. We will get the picture when looking at your resume. We don't want to see your grades. Try and get an entry level job in the career of your choice. You could even look for a summer job at the company you want to work for. Start sending resumes out in March/April for summer. If you work hard they might hire you permanately. What will hurt you the most is if you job hop! I wish I worked on a cruise ship. If you can speak a 2nd language, go see the world and travel by getting a job on a cruise ship!
In a word, NO! If you are applying for an academic position, you'll be asked to have your school send an official transcript to them directly. Otherwise, the great majority of non-academic jobs won't bother with a transcript. At least they may simply contact your school to verify that you did in fact graduate or attend that institution.

Depending on your field of study, internships can be a very valuable experience and potential permanent employment after graduation. Should you do well, your supervisors would be in a good position to give prospective employers positive references.

Whatever you do, DO NOT fudge your resume or claim experiences that you really don't have. Sooner or later, you'll be found out and bounced out with damaged credibility.

Good luck in your search. Remember, any experience can be good if you are a prompt, responsible and reliable employee.

How can I get my high school transcript?

I live in California but graduated from a school in West Virginia. Can my sister that still goes to that school get it for me? I need it mailed somehow. How can I get my high school transcript?
I have never had to actually show up in person to get a copy of transcript or diploma.

    1. Just pick up the phone and call the central office of that school district or the high school itself. Ask them what their procedures are for getting a copy of transcript.

    2. If your old school has a website, it may have a way to order transcripts.

    3. Write a letter requesting transcript. Give important info such as Student number, date of graduation , your name etc. Some schools provide one or two transcripts for free. Others charge a small fee per copy. Be sure to include your signature.

How soon should I be hearing back after my 2nd interview and forwarding my transcript?

I have many Ws on my current transcript from my old district, I would liket o start over and go to a new college district. Would my old record from the previous district be include?Does Academic transcript include all school district in one state?
Any school you apply to will want transcripts from all of your previous schools. Should you leave one out, and the new one finds out about it, they could kick you out for lying on the application. Don't worry too much about the Ws. They aren't grades and don't count on your GPA.

How do I get a high school transcript from my high school and how long does it take?

I need it for a job interview on Tuesday. Will I get it on time or should I reschedule the interview? How do I get a high school transcript from my high school and how long does it take?
It may take up to a week for you to request transcripts and have them issued to you by your school. Typically if you show up and request a transcript, they cannot complete the request in one day. (going in on Monday and getting a transcript for a Tuesday appointment)

While actual processing time may vary by school, it is best to allow at least a week to get the transcript.

As for getting a copy of the transcript, call or visit your school and ask any of the administrative assistants. More than likely, they will direct you to the registrar who will get your information and process your request. Some schools may require the transcripts be send directly to your employer or another school as to prevent tampering. Others may issue you sealed copies of your transcript that would become void were to to open them to check. If you want to see what is on there before handing it over, ask for an unofficial copy for your records to check for errors.

Don't forget to reschedule that appointmentHow do I get a high school transcript from my high school and how long does it take?
i needed one for my job interview too. i called the school secretary and gave her my info. i was lucky though. my daughter goes to my old school and they sent it home with her. i would say maybe a couple of days by snail mail. it takes no time at all for them to find the info on their computers.
usually you have to call in to your highschool and request it to be sent and depending on the school and where you are it'll take a few days.... and you have to call in on a school day. or go into the school if you're close enough and you should be able to get it that day.
Contact your school asap. Sometimes they can take a long time. If the transcripts don't have to be sealed (sometimes they are required to be unopened) maybe they will fax them to you. Fed-ex works pretty quick if you want to pay the extra postage.

    Good luck!
You have to call the High School or the board of education on which your high school is located and talk to them. It usually takes a few days.
The length of time will depend on the school. Contact their office and ask what they need to provide it.
I'd call the school on Monday first thing %26amp; ask for it. Tell the school that you'll come pick it up as most offer to mail it to you. You can go to the interview without it %26amp; explain that you asked for the transcripts, but there's a delay in receiving them %26amp; can provide them as soon as you get them. It's odd for an interview to ask for the transcripts. Usually, colleges %26amp; fly by night schools (DeVry, Maric College, etc) ask for them. Good luck on your interview!
I got mine through the local Board of Education,it cost a few dollars but I got it immediately.

For a fresh out of college person, do you need to prepare your transcript for interviews?

I'm doing job at i-banks, do companies typically require you to have your transcript sent to them after they hire you? Is it typical for a person to put his GPA on his resume? Would having not so stellar grade affect whether they would hire a person? For a fresh out of college person, do you need to prepare your transcript for interviews?
This all really depends on your field. Unless your GPA and transcript record is really outstanding - a 3.5 or higher - I would not include it unless they specifically ask.For a fresh out of college person, do you need to prepare your transcript for interviews?
no transcripts sent. don't put gpa. only put the college you attended, if you are an honors you can state that next to the school, otherwise no mention other than degree received.

    Good luck!
It could, but here's the great thing, once you are out of school, your GPA isn't such a big deal anymore. If it is respectable, leave it on the resume. If it's not so great, leave it off. You got the degree, that's what they are really after. No one, except maybe in highly technical professions, will ask to see a transcript.
Depending on the policy of a company. Some companies require a copy to keep in your personal file after they hire you, especially those that are accredited.

Has anyone had to submit a transcript to enter child into public school from home school?

If so, can you help me create one for the state of Georgia?Has anyone had to submit a transcript to enter child into public school from home school?
i was home schooled last year and i wanted to go into loganville high this year *in georgia* but they i would have had to take a test to see what grade i would need to be in sense i came from home school, all you have to do is tell the school that you want your child to go to that she or he at the time being is home schooled and they should help you and tell you what you need. but make sure your child studies and knows the things that the grade he or she should be in or he might be put in a lower grade, but there are good instances that he or she could be put in a higher grade also.Has anyone had to submit a transcript to enter child into public school from home school?
    tough one.

One one hand, it's their school and they can pretty much demand whatever they want.

on the other hand, if your child is of compulsory education age, the state is required to provide a free public education. I think your answer is somewhere in that section of Georgia's laws.

After filing my 2008 taxes and having them accepted, how long would it typically be for me to call the IRS and request a transcript of that year's taxes? How long to get a tax transcript after filing recent year-end?
You must wait at least 6 weeks after you filed and IRS processes your return to request a transcript of your account. If you need the W2 transcript you must wait until after August 2009 to request them.

(I called IRS myself and asked them and this was their answer)How long to get a tax transcript after filing recent year-end?
Assuming you didn't keep a copy, you could request a transcript as soon as the return has been processed. You would know that it has been if you receive a refund or a balance due notice.
You could just keep a copy then you dont need a transcript.
    Allow at least 3 weeks.

Is it possible for you parents to print out a transcript of your text messeges for Verizon phones?

my dad told me he is going to have the phone company print out my messages. is it possible? Is it possible for you parents to print out a transcript of your text messeges for Verizon phones?
No. The messages may or may not be stored in a server, but IF a transcript of the messages exists, they would ONLY be released by court subpoena. Your dad would have to have legal grounds to subpoena Verizon for the records.... which is VERY unlikely.

He's trying to scare you. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.

On a side note, if you're texting things you're concerned with others seeing, you might want to reconsider what you're texting.... while the content of the messages won't be given out by the wireless company, the person receiving the message could show it to whomever he/she wants.

The most your dad could see though would be the date %26amp; time of the message, and the phone # it went to.

Edit: What ';Ell'; is referring to is ';detailed billing';. Detailed billing would list the time/date of the messages, and the number they were sent to/received from, but would NOT list the content of the message. Is it possible for you parents to print out a transcript of your text messeges for Verizon phones?
The only way that your dad can see what is being said inside the text messages is with a court order. He would have to have one and then the cell provider would give it to him. Otherwise with no court order it is not possibe.
i know that there is a way, but not just because. , i think there has to be a civil or criminal reason to do it.
if u pay 5 dollars extra a month ya otherwise no

Extra curricular activities and sports - college will know only if you tell them on the application when you apply. What is on your transcript that is sent to colleges?

Grades, SAT/AP scores, community service hours (if they are required). College know about your extracurriculars through your application. There is often a place to list them (or you can send a resume). You can also bring up other activities in your essay.

How do I get an audio transcript of a 911 call?

Long story short, my fiancee called the local police department regarding her ex-husband, as he was drunk when she dropped off her son after weekend visitation. Not ten minutes later, the police showed up at OUR door responding to a complaint of a ';kid screaming and being beaten';. (Needless to say, our son was fine.)

I know he called (the officer claimed it was ';anonymous';), and I'm looking to have him brought up on charges of filing a false police report. I know that you can get an audio transcript of the 911 call (the local news does this all the time). How do I go about getting it? And any other advice that you might have regarding the legal ramifications of this issue? How do I get an audio transcript of a 911 call?
You might try filing an open records request under your state's Freedom of Information Act law (this was originally a federal law, applying to federal agencies only, but now each state has some version of it). Do an online search, or go to the PD, to find out what the specifics of the law are. One typical exception that would protect records from disclosure is anything relating to a pending criminal investigation--it sounds like this is closed, so probably that wouldn't apply. The one that might apply, though, is that at least some states have some type of confidentiality protection for those reporting suspected abuse of a child. The idea of this is to encourage people in contact with the child, such as teachers, to report suspected abuse and initiate an investigation without fear of retaliation. The downside is that it is of course sometimes subject to abuse, perhaps most often in custody and neighbor dispute situations. You would need to check the specifics of your state's law to know whether such an exception protects the information you're looking for here from disclosure. How do I get an audio transcript of a 911 call?
Regardless of the ';false call'; your fiance's ex-husband had called in for, the police have to take every situation as though it is legit ie. child screaming and being beaten.

I'm sure once the police found out your son was fine, they just left. Calling the police to file a false/inaccurate report is so frequent you'd be surprised. However, no ones life was in danger or there was no immediate threat made so I don't exactly see the need to get the audio transcript of the 9-11 call. What you can do is get a report/documentation number of how the call was dispatched and bring that to court with you if your fiance's ex and your fiancee are having child custody battle.

Go get a great education and then go work for the NSA and find out if that certain conversation was recorded from way back when since they have been spying on Americans.

Other than that, the phone companies do not record conversations. Your only hope is that someone recorded the phone conversation, whether that be a gov't agency or if the person in question called a place that records phone calls (like say a business that records their employees' phone conversation for protection).
    oh man,

    u`re irritating,

    No man,

    no ,

    Just go!!!!!!!!!!

When applying to law school, is it absolutely necessary to submit every transcript from every school?

I am not particularly excited about a transcript I have from a community college, which contains a large number of W's. Even if I am not using any credits from this college, Is it necessary to submit this transcript? When applying to law school, is it absolutely necessary to submit every transcript from every school?
Yes, it's necessary.. unfortunately :) good thing is, Ws do not affect your gpa going into law school (regardless of the rumors) and they take into account how many years ago they are from. It won't hurt your chances. When applying to law school, is it absolutely necessary to submit every transcript from every school?
Yes, you do need to submit your transcript from every school. (I took a class through consortium credit, so it appeared on my home university transcript...and I still had to obtain a transcript from the other school...so prospective law schools could know that I got an A in ballet.) In some cases, LSDAS will notice it and alert you that your file is incomplete.

Although W's won't affect your GPA, it can seem suspicious in law school admissions. You may want to include an addendum to your application that discusses why you had so many W's. Rule of thumb: always address the elephant in the room in law school applications.

    Good luck!!

How do I get my college transcript when my college went out of business?

I graduated in 1995 and need my transcript now. I just have no idea how to get it. Thanks for the help. How do I get my college transcript when my college went out of business?
You can contact the local school board to find out where to get it but if the college ';went out of business'; then it is very unlike that it was accredited and if that is the case your transcript won't be worth anything.

  • What is a final high school transcript upon graduation?

I already sent in my transcript, but it says I am missing my final high school transcript upon graduation. Are those 2 different things? Will my guidance counselor automatically send the latter? I graduate Friday. What is a final high school transcript upon graduation?
Your final transcript is basically just a formality they need to see that you did indeed graduate. I am in a similar boat friend. I graduate on the 22nd. Just go talk to the Graduation Coach, or Graduation Counselor (whichever your school has) and ask them to send your final transcript too the address your college of choice provided. Hope that helps. CLASS of 09!What is a final high school transcript upon graduation?
You have to ask for them to send it to the college you want....the transcript you sent was to see your progress in high school, and if they want to accept you...its pretty much all records

Basic Geography or basic Chemistry, Which one is gonna look better on transcript?

I'm currently in community college now and planning to transfer to one of UCs(My goal is UC LA) after 2 years. I have to take one course from Physical Science, but i'm not sure which one will be better?Basic Geography or basic Chemistry, Which one is gonna look better on transcript?
It depends on what you want to pursue as a career. If you want to be a chemist then you should probably take the chemistry class. However, for anything else I would strongly recommend the geography class. Geography is a broad, wide-ranging discipline that covers a wide variety of topics and helps you develop many skills that you can carry with you to other classes and on into many jobs and career fields. Geography is a type of discipline that bridges many other fields of study, such as history, sociology, political science, public policy, urban studies, geology, earth science, meteorology, among others.

You may even want to consider majoring in geography once you transfer to UCLA. They have one of the top ten geography programs in the country. Geography is the study of the interrelationships between the earth and its people. The field of geography is considered both a physical science and social science. Geography focuses on (for example) climate, land, water, space, mineral resources, population density, changes in the environment, how people adapt to those changes, populations, migration, transportation, and much more. Geography is an especially worthwhile major today as the world becomes increasingly globalized and continues to experience economic, political, and cultural globalization.Basic Geography or basic Chemistry, Which one is gonna look better on transcript?
