I took 4 classes in a college but had to drop one b/c it conflicted with my work schedule.B/C I dropped this course, the school had to return a portion of my financial aid and have since sent me a bill for the portion of my Fin. Aid that was returned. I have since enrolled in a new school who said I can apply the credits I did receive to my current degree, but I need an official transcript.
Is there any way I can obtain my transcript with out paying the balance or should I just suck it up and take the hit?How can I obtain my college transcript with a balance on my account?
There really is no way, if the school wants to deny your request for the transcripts because you have a balance due to them the only way to get your paperwork is to pay it. If you can pay it out of pocket I would definitely recommend you to because the school has every right to send the due amount to collections. If that happens you not only will not have the transcripts but your credit will take a major hit as well. How can I obtain my college transcript with a balance on my account?
You shouldn't be charged for a class that you dropped if it was covered by financial aid. Did you drop it by the deadline? If so there should be no fee. I would call the office and ask them exactly what the fee is for.
You should be able to contact the business office and the financial aid office of your previous school to get the situation cleared up, you don't want to have to retake those classes again that would be a bigger waste of money.
