In Scottish Law can a defence advocate access the transcript of a trial in which his client is implicated?

An advocate is defending a client accused of a fraud which may be connected to a fifteen-year-old murder - for which someone has already been convicted. There was possibly an appeal. If he CAN access the transcript, how does he apply for it? almost every trial is transcripted and the court writer is the one to contact for a transcript of a trial he or she will supply you with the transcript at a cost and they do not come cheap expect to pay at least 拢100 for each day of the trial. most court writers are self employed so it as nothing to do with the court. but they will give you the contact details
