How dose a UC grade a high school transcript? What do they exactly look at in a transcript?

My high school peers have told me that the UC鈥檚 only look at 10th and 11th grades, is that true if not what do they look at?What dose one have to do to get accepted at a UC?How dose a UC grade a high school transcript? What do they exactly look at in a transcript?
UCs look at your weighted academic GPA, but they only count 8 smesters of AP/honor classes. They look at 10th and 11th grade, but your senior grades will be important because they can reject you even after you have been accepted.

They also take in account how many AP/honor classes that you take, but your GPA is the most important. You need anywhere from a 3.5 (Merced) to a 4.08 (Berkeley, UCLA). SAT/ACT scores can also benefit you if you have high scores (1800-2400 with the majority getting 2000+ for UCSD, UCLA, UCB)/ Also, be sure to participate in clubs, and volunteer. I've heard that being an editor for the newspaper will get you more credit than being the president of a club/class. OH, a lot of people have gotten full scholarships because of sports, but you need to be REALLY good.
