I'm planning on graduating early. I have all my classes set and I'm good with my guidance counselor on everything. I will be applying to NYU, but like all college applications, you need your transcripts. I'd be in my 11th grade year, applying to college. But I'd only have 9th and 10th grade, with one semester of 11th. Can I do that? Or what? Please help! How do I send in my Transcript to College if I'm not finished?
Ask your counselor to send your most current transcript. Colleges are used to not getting finished transcripts from people, because many people apply early, and they have to send everything in by December. If you happen to get deferred, you should write them a letter saying that you will send them an updated transcript at the end of the next semester. Don't worry about it though; colleges rarely get full transcripts in applications. If you do get in and enroll, though, they will ask for your final transcript. How do I send in my Transcript to College if I'm not finished?
All colleges will require that by their admissions application season that all students submit their final grades up to their 6th semester. Basically upon the Fall after you finish your Junior year (usually the beginning of your senior year). If you apply to a school before your 6th semester is complete, your application will become inactive as you will not have completed the basic requirements of credits to apply to the school.
My suggestion, you spend 4 years in high school, and send your grades out in the Fall of your senior year. A school as selective as NYU will look down upon a student who trys to run out of HS in 3 and not four.
Send them your transcript as of now. Your application should have your estimated high school graduation date. When you are officially done, send them a new updated transcript. This happens all the time. Do not worry.
That's something you should call NYU directly and find out to make sure you get the correect information.
