What classes do colleges want to see on your transcript?

Ok I'm not talking about Harvard here but a college more like University of Wisconsin-Madison or The University of Minnesota.

Im wondering how many years of math, science,English, and social studies they'd like to see as well as world language.

Any information would be very helpful as well as links to pages that show exact requirements of Universities like these. What classes do colleges want to see on your transcript?
You can usually find that information on the college websites. College sites tend to be a little confusing because there's so much information on them, but check on the admissions or requirements sections.

Generally speaking, most colleges want four english credits, three science, three social studies credits, and often requires three but recommends four math classes. Most colleges also require a foreign language. What classes do colleges want to see on your transcript?
They're going to want 4 years of English. Many want to see 3-4 years of math as well and 3-4 years of social sciences (this would include history, government, psychology, sociology, etc). Most want to see at least 2 years of foreign language, but many like to see more. They'll also want 3-4 years of science courses.
